Built for the cold and the wind
What the gear does once you are out there.

A dry living room under the tarp
Two tall poles, a tarp and four guy lines turn a tent door into a porch where you can cook and sit out of the rain. The telescopic poles set to any height, so the tarp sheds water instead of pooling.

Stakes for the ground you actually get
Soft grass, sand, gravel or a pitch that turns rock-hard after a few centimetres – there is a stake for each kind, from light pegs for soft grass to heavy-duty stakes for hard, stony pitches.

Privacy anywhere
A pop-up privacy tent becomes a shower, a camp toilet or a changing room on the beach. It opens by itself and folds back into a flat bag.
Why campers pick AVOFOREST
Real heat in a tent
Wood stoves with viewing glass, damper control and stainless chimneys you can cook on.
Poles that stay up
Aviation aluminium and locking joints, with caps that protect the tarp.
Stakes for every soil
From light pegs for grass to heavy-duty stakes for hard, rocky ground.
Complete kits
Carry bags, guy ropes, stakes, gloves and tools are packed in the box.
Using a hot tent stove safely
The steps the stove listings give for first use and everyday burning, in short.
Burn it off outdoors first
Before the first night in a tent, light a full fire outside. Coatings and manufacturing residue burn off and stop smoking.
Fireproof base and fresh air
Inside a tent, stand the stove on a fireproof mat and keep the tent ventilated – a wood fire produces carbon monoxide.
Build the chimney
Slot the stainless sections together to the height you need and include the section with the damper. Fit the spark arrestor on top if your stove has one.
Light with everything open
Open the air vent and the damper while the fire catches and until the first smoke clears. Dry wood burns cleaner.
Set the heat
Close the door and open the damper fully for a strong fire; turn the damper down to slow the burn and save wood.
Clean only when cold
Let the stove cool completely, then brush out the ash or empty the pull-out tray. Tools and gloves pack inside the firebox.
Pitching poles and stakes
Telescopic poles: unlock by turning, pull to height and turn back to lock. Run a guy line from the top of each pole to a stake. Drive stakes at about 60° away from the load and leave a few centimetres above ground so you can pull them out again.
Quick fixes
- Smoke when lightingOpen the air vent and the damper together until the fire is going, and use well-dried wood.
- Stove smells on first firesThat is residue burning off – do the outdoor burn-off before using it in a tent.
- Stakes bend in hard groundUse a heavier, thicker stake and drive it at an angle with a hammer rather than straight down.
What buyers say
Summary of buyer feedback on the most-reviewed products.
- +Stove buyers say it heats a small tent quickly, packs small and is good value.
- +The telescopic tarp poles are called strong in heavy rain, easy to adjust and useful on every trip.
- +The bright-headed steel stakes hold firm on windy days – for tents, canopies and lawn decorations.
- +The forged steel stakes are described as sturdy, including in high-wind areas.
- +The stake-and-hammer kit is rated sturdier than the stakes supplied with most tents.
- +The swivel campfire grill is strong enough to carry a Dutch oven.
- −Some find the compact stove smaller than expected and see smoke at the top until the fire is going.
- −A few report a bent pole or a sticking lock, and opinions differ on how easily the 7.1 in stakes bend.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use an AVOFOREST stove inside a tent?
They are built as hot tent stoves. The listings ask for a fireproof mat under the stove, good ventilation because of carbon monoxide, and a chimney routed out of the tent through a heat-resistant opening. Burn the stove off outdoors before the first use.
Can I cook on the stove?
Yes. The flat top takes a kettle or a pan for coffee and simple meals, and the side racks hold a pot or dry a towel. Control the heat with the damper.
How long is each chimney section?
Each stainless section is 12 in (30.5 cm). Depending on the model you get 6, 7 or 12 sections and assemble as many as the height needs; one of them carries the damper.
Do spare chimney pipes fit other stoves?
The chimney kit is 2.36 in in diameter, the common size for small tent stoves, and its 90° elbow helps where the pipe has to turn. Check your stove’s pipe size before ordering.
How tall do the telescopic poles go?
The 32 mm poles go from 88 to 265 cm (2.9–8.7 ft) and each pole is rated for 60 lb. The taller set reaches 280 cm (9.2 ft) and collapses to 87 cm.
Will the telescopic poles collapse in wind?
They use locking joints – the 265 cm model has a second anti-collapse lock – and the brand states they handle winds up to about 40 mph when guyed out. Don’t over-tighten ratchet straps against them.
How do the plug-together poles adjust?
In steps of one section: use all of them for full height (80 in aluminium or 75 in steel) or fewer for a lower pole. You can also join sections into one longer pole and one shorter one.
Are poles included with the tarp?
No, the tarp comes with stakes, guy ropes and clips or suction cups, but no poles. The tarp + pole set includes two 8.7 ft telescopic poles.
How big is the pop-up tent?
It is 9.35 × 6.56 ft on the floor with a 3.94 ft centre height – enough for a queen air mattress or pads for 5–6 people. It folds into a 28 in round bag.
Can the privacy tent be used as a shower?
Yes. The removable skylight lets light and air in and its opening can hold an overhead shower. It also works as a camp toilet or changing room; it measures 47 × 47 × 75 in.
